Ashley Orne: Art
Ashley is a proud Aurora native and graduate of Aurora Public Schools. She received her Bachelors of Fine Arts, with an emphasis in painting and Art Education, from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Through her studies at MSU Denver, Ashley had the opportunity to learn art education through the lens of the expeditionary learning model, which lead her to Tollgate. She has been teaching art at Tollgate for the past five years and has loved being part of the amazing Crew! Outside of teaching life, you can find Ashley hiking, camping, kayaking, practicing yoga or dancing.
Jody Reynolds: PE
Jody is from Galesburg, Illinois. She graduated from Western Illinois University and Illinois State University. She has been teaching at Tollgate for 12 years! Before working at Tollgate, Jody worked for the YMCA as the school director for the before and after school programs. She also taught in Cherry Creek. Jody loves teaching the students about Physical Education and working with the staff at Tollgate. In her free time, Jody enjoys all types of exercise and spending time with her family and dog. She loves traveling, cooking and teaching cycling classes. She loves to be outdoors and watch her two kids play sports!
Scott Alverson: Expedition Lab
Mr. Alverson is a native of Aurora, Colorado. This is his 12th year at Tollgate and loves the students, families and community that make up his hometown. Mr. A received his degrees from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania and is a graduate of the Stanley Teacher Preparation Program. He seeks to connect students to the wonders of Science. In the Expedition Lab he seeks to have students realize that Science is all around us; we are wrapped by it, in it, with it.
Mr. Alverson is also a swim coach and loves spending time with his family and enjoying all of the outdoor activities Colorado has to offer.
Lindsay North: Preforming Arts
Lindsay has been teaching for 11 years, seven of which have been within the EL community. As an educator, she strives to develop a positive classroom community where students are affirmed and free to be themselves. She seeks to provide students with new and engaging ways of learning about the world, and through this to foster a love of learning in each child. She also works to integrate the arts into learning as often as possible. Lindsay is a Denver native, and graduate of Denver School of the Arts. When she is not teaching, Lindsay loves seeing live music, especially if it involves The Avett Brothers! She also loves getting out into Denver's buzzing arts scene to enjoy live theater and other arts endeavors. Lindsay is the proud fairy soul mother to her sweet fairy soul-children, Reggie and Eden! She has a 15 year old puppy, Sebastian. Lindsay also loves traveling to big cities and soaking in culture through museums, performances and food! Last but not least, Lindsay loves playing trivia, reading, and is a huge fan of dancing in the kitchen!
