Kim Goetz: Cross-Categorical Teacher

Kim is originally from Oregon, where she graduated from the University of Oregon with a B. S. in Psychology. She earned a Special Education license from Metropolitan State College of Denver and a Masters degree in Reading: Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University. Kim has taught special education for 15 years. Outside of work, Kim loves spending time with her family, friends, and pets. She enjoys reading, walking, traveling, and playing golf.

Jennifer Zevin: Special Education/Interventionist

Jennifer is from Aurora, Colorado. She graduated from CU Denver in Vocal Performance and attended UNCO for her Masters in Special Education. This is Jennifer's second year at Tollgate and was a Significant Support Needs para in Cherry Creek for 5 years prior. She loves working with all of the dedicated and knowledgeable staff. Most of all, Jennifer loves building relationships and working with the amazing students. Outside of school, you can find Jennifer hiking, lifting weights, and walking her dog, Kaya. She is very passionate about cooking and enjoys experimenting in the kitchen.

Stefanie Pahler: Special Education/Interventionist

Stefanie was born and raised in Colorado. She attended University of Denver for a Bachelors of Fine Arts and University of Colorado at Denver for a Master degree in Special Education. She currently has a special education license and elementary teaching license. She is starting her eighth year teaching in Aurora Public Schools as a special education teacher. She is a first generation college graduate and values the right for an education for all. Stefanie believes in the hands-on teaching that Tollgate provides with expeditionary and social-emotional learning to help all students to take ownership of their learning. Outside of work, Stefanie enjoys cooking, traveling, and painting. It is exciting to join a crew that believes in teaching beyond the normal classroom to excel students’ knowledge and skills.

Courtney Johnson: Speech - Special Education

Courtney is a Speech-Language Pathologist for the Autism Program here at Tollgate Elementary. She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with her Master’s in Communication Disorders in August, 2019. She is originally from Oregon, but grew up in Southern California. She moved to Denver four years ago with her husband. In her free time, Courtney enjoys reading and spending time with her husband and two dogs.
